reported by Rick Fare

"On August 20 at 10:00AM Greg Baker (a birder visiting from Oregon) and I observed an adult European goldfinch feeding 1 of 2 young at Myers Park.  Although I have seen a few in the past and suspected that they might be breeding in the area, this is proof of breeding.  He took a few photos and has a video of this feeding behavior."

reported by Eric H.

Hoy members met at the Racine lakefront this morning at Wind Point Lighthouse & Shoop Park as well as the area near the Pugh Marina.  Highlight at Wind Point were, among others, separate flybys of 2 Glaucous Gulls (adult and immature).

At the Pugh Marina, besides the usual waterfowl, we found a single Ring-necked Duck and Ruddy Duck at the north end.

Another observer took a swing down to Carre-Hogle Park after the group departed and saw 2 more Glaucous Gulls (immatures) on the spit of beach to the east of the turn around.
